Associate Professor, Renewable Energy Program, National University of Mongolia
Battuvshin Bayarkhuu is an Associate Professor in the Renewable Energy program at the National University of Mongolia (NUM), where he has taught and conducted research since 2016. He received his B.Sc. in Renewable Energy from NUM in 2015, and his M.Eng. (2019) and Ph.D. (2024) from the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan, where he worked in Prof. Ichiro Omura's laboratory on PCB-embedded Rogowski-coil current sensors and feedback control of power converters. He also completed a research internship at the Kyoto University of Advanced Science on gate-driver design for GaN and SiC devices.
His research interests include power electronics, semiconductor power devices, renewable energy and energy storage systems. His work has been published in Microelectronics Reliability and Energies and presented at ISPSD, CIPS and ICEMS. He teaches power electronics for renewable energy systems, energy storage, electric power systems, distributed energy systems, and renewable energy modelling and simulation.
Dr. Battuvshin has contributed to the M-JEED joint research project on power electronics and industrial automation and the KETEP-funded microgrid project, and has led or joined applied projects including industrial energy audits, a UNDP feasibility study on solar heating for ger-district households, and technical consulting for a 50 MW solar plant with 30 MW/100 MWh battery storage in Bulgan Province.
